To begin, access your Microsoft Teams application through your Office 365 account or the desktop application. Next, you will need to set up a Team or Channel where the Kudos® app will be installed. This team or channel is where your users will go to view the Kudos® wall feed.
💭 We recommend installing the Kudos® app to a Team or Channel that is viewable organization-wide, as the Kudos® app can only be installed once per organization. If you already have an organization-wide team, you can add a new Channel called "Kudos®" and install the integration there. However, if you'd prefer to have your Kudos® Wall visible to a select group of users, you can install the app on a smaller team. Keep in mind that only the users in that Team or Channel will be able to see the Kudos® Wall feed and that you can only install the wall to one channel.
Notifications will be generated each time there is a new recognition message posted and for each K+ through MS Teams; notifications for the Channel are controlled by each user, so be sure to let your team know so they can update their preferences accordingly!
To set up a new Team, navigate to your Teams by using the left menu, scroll to the bottom and click Join or create a team, then click Create team.
When the options window appears, click on Build a team from scratch.
To add all members within your organization, select the Org-wide option. If you prefer to add members manually select either a private or public team.
You will need to name your team, then click Create. By default, your team will have a General Channel. Next, click on the Apps icon on the bottom left menu, and search for Kudos® to install the Kudos® App.
❗️ Be sure to click on the drop-down arrow and select Add to a Team! Clicking Add instead will not install the integration properly as the integration must be installed within a team.
When prompted, select the same Team or Channel you created above to host the Kudos® Wall, and click the drop-down arrow beside Set Up in the bottom right-hand corner and then click Set Up a Bot.
