The Bulk User Import import feature supports UTF-8 encoded CSV files. If you are using a different encoding you will need to convert your file to UTF-8 before uploading.
Please follow the instructions below to convert an existing CSV file to UTF-8:
Excel for Windows and Mac
- Click on ‘File’ then ‘Save As’
- Choose “CSV (Comma delimited)” from the “Save as type” menu.
- Save the document as: CSV Unicode (UTF-8)
- Click OK
- Click on ‘File’ then ‘Save’
Notepad
- Click on ‘File’ then ‘Save As’
- Select ‘All Files’ where it says ‘Save as type’
- Choose a filename and add .csv to the end
- Click on Encoding Dropdown and choose UTF-8
- Click on ‘File’ then ‘Save’
Numbers
- Click on File and Hover over Export
- Choose CSV
- Select Unicode (UTF-8) from Text Encoding
- Click Next
- Click on ‘File’ then ‘Save’
Google Sheets
- Click ‘File’ and ‘Download As’
- Choose Comma-separated values
- The file will now be downloaded to your computer.
