Multi-factor authentication (MFA), or Two-factor authentication (2FA) is important to ensure your Kudos® account remains secure by providing an extra layer of security by requiring you to provide additional information when you login to your account. You can choose to authorize your login by using your Kudos® user email, mobile device via SMS, or both. You will be prompted to enter a unique six-digit code each time you login to your Kudos® account from a new IP address.
To enable MFA for your Kudos® account, sign in on your computer or mobile browser. You cannot sign up for MFA on the Kudos® mobile app.
Once you've logged in, navigate to your Advanced Settings by clicking My Settings in the bottom corner of your window. Scroll to the Multi-factor Authentication section and check Enable MFA:
By default, the email associated with your Kudos® account will be added as an authentication method. You can opt-in to use your mobile device to authenticate your sign-in attempt.
❗️You must be able to receive SMS messages on your device in order to use mobile MFA.
You can add your mobile device by clicking Add mobile device:
Next, you will be prompted to enter your mobile number to set up your mobile device as an authorization method. Once you click send, you will receive a six-digit code via SMS. Enter this code in the prompt on your Kudos® page. The code will expire 10 minutes after it is sent; if you need longer than that you will need to resend the authorization code to your device from your settings. Once you've properly entered the verification code, you will see a pop-up confirming that you have successfully enabled MFA via SMS.
If you wish to utilize an authenticator app such as Google or Microsoft Authenticator, begin by signing into your Kudos® account on your computer or mobile browser. You cannot edit your MFA settings on the Kudos® mobile app.
Once you've logged in, navigate to your Advanced Settings by clicking My Settings in the bottom corner of your window. Click Add Authenticator:
You will then be provided a QR Code that you can use within your preferred authenticator app to add your Kudos account as an option.
