This article will provide you with an overview of the Kudos® system and give you some tips to get the most out of your account. Kudos® is a platform you will use to recognize, appreciate, and get to know your teammates at work. In the form of a Thank You, Good Job, Impressive, or Exceptional, you can send a recognition message for everything from day-to-day moments that make you smile to monumental achievements and big results.
When you are ready to send a recognition message, you can choose from four escalating levels of recognition, from appreciation moments (Thank You) to performance-oriented moments (Good Job, Impressive, or Exceptional). If your organization uses points, it's important to remember that you can always send recognition messages, even if you have run out of points to give! More information about points can be found here: How Do Kudos® Points Work?
- Thank You (TY): This is an everyday appreciation moment. (5 pts)
- Good Job (GJ): This is an acknowledgment of an above-average behaviour or recognizing the completion of a milestone in a larger initiative. (10 pts)
- Impressive (IM): This acknowledges behaviour that made a visible difference and exceeded expectations or signals the end of a significant initiative that took extensive time and effort. (20 pts)
- Exceptional (EX): The recipient exceeded the expectations within their deliverables, responsibilities, or goals. Outstanding contributions or achievements can be celebrated through this level of recognition. (50 pts)

💭 Be sure to send a meaningful recognition message! Meaningful recognition is defined as messages that identify who is being recognized, articulates their actions thoroughly, and explains the personal and/or business impact of those efforts. When you take a few extra seconds to reflect and explain why you appreciate someone, it fosters deeper connections, provides context for increased transparency across departments, and creates a stronger, personal feeling of appreciation in the receiver.
You can also send a General Message (GM) by using the Give Bar, if General Messages have been enabled by your Administrator. A General Message can be used to send updates or generic messages to users, locations, groups, or departments. Please note that a General Message sent to the entire organization will only display the message on the Home Feed, and no other email notifications will be sent out. You will not need to associate any qualities with a General Message. If your organization uses points, a General Message is always sent with no points.
K+ is a great way to give extra support to a recognition message. It's an endorsement that you also think the receiver did something great!
To endorse a Recognition Message that you agree with, click K+.
Depending on how your Kudos® Admin has configured your site, endorsing a message may or may not send with points. If a K+ does have an associated point value at your organization, this will give points to each receiver of that message or Award. For example, if the K+ is worth 2 points and you endorse a message that went to 4 users, you will be sending 8 points. If your K+ has a point value, but you do not have enough Points to Give, your K+ will still send without points.
K+ endorsements cannot be revoked once they have been given.
You cannot K+ General Messages, Announcements, Events, messages that you sent or received or messages with over 50 recipients.
Your home wall will display all recognition and general messages sent publicly in your organization, as well as any posted Announcements, Events, Spaces or Albums. You will see messages showing New Signups, Anniversaries and Birthdays on the Home Wall. Private messages will not be shown on the Home Wall.
You can filter the Home Wall in order to only view one specific group within your organization and/or one type of message. When you filter the Wall, you will see all messages sent and received by members of the group, location or department you have filtered to. If you have a team, you can filter the wall to see your team's posts. These filters will reset each time you reload your Home Feed or Me Page wall in the Kudos® Platform.
