You can customize your Kudos® Platform to suit your organization perfectly by building and adding widgets to your account. Kudos® offers several convenient widgets to enhance communication and create efficiencies; from event notifications to announcements, to a resource center that centralizes key documents and templates.
Sidebar widgets are only customizable for those with Admin privileges. If you are logged in as an Admin, access the Sidebar and Widget settings by navigating to the account settings under Admin ⚙️ > Account Settings > Customize. Once you are in the Customize tab, the widgets on the right-hand side will now display an Edit button on them.
To hide a widget so it doesn't appear on the sidebar for users, select Edit. In the pop-up window, select Inactive, and then Save. Inactive widgets will not display throughout the application; they will only display to an Admin while in the account settings.
To re-arrange the order widgets appear on the sidebar, you can drag and drop their headers directly into the order you prefer.
Types of Widgets
These widgets allow you to highlight the top five senders and receivers of recognition messages in the Kudos® platform each month. This is a great way to feature the people who are making an impression on their peers and on the business. The leaderboards are reset on the first day of every month and are updated in real-time as messages are sent and received. These leaderboards can also be used to help manage internal reward programs.
The Points Leaders widget displays the top users who have sent and received the most points in the month.
The Engagement Leaders widget displays the users who have sent and received the most messages, comments, or K+ in the month.
This widget allows you to share the company's calendar with the team. It's a great way to keep track of upcoming company events, holidays, or community events!
You can either import an existing calendar or add events manually. The widget will only show events taking place in the next two days. Events will also appear on the wall timeline on the day they are happening. To see all events, click View All Events.
To import a calendar, you can either paste the URL from a public online calendar or upload a .ICS calendar file from your computer.
To add events manually, fill out the section called Calendar Events. Click Save. Your event will appear on the sidebar on the day before and day of. It will also appear on the wall timeline whenever it takes place.
The Image widget allows you to display a deck of image files on the site. These can be anything that enhances your engagement program like quotes, motivational posters, candid moments, or inspiring pictures of your team. The images you upload will change on the sidebar each time the page re-loads.
The dimensions for the images should be 190px wide by 150 - 340px high. The image may be larger than these dimensions as long as the ratio is the same. You can also add text to display below the image, or include a URL to make the image clickable!
This widget gives Admins the ability to prominently feature news and information so that everyone can be kept up to date on what is happening in the company. You can promote all kinds of happenings: welcome a new team member; recognize a special event, or notify team members of important dates.
You can add an attachment to an announcement to provide more information to your team, or simply add a fun image or gif to draw attention to your announcement. There is an option to additionally broadcast the announcement via email to all users.
You can send an announcement to your team by going to Admin ⚙️ > Account Settings > Customize > Announcements. Here you can add the text and an image (we recommend copying and pasting the image into the text area for best results!). You have the option to Save Only which will post the Announcement to the wall and the Announcement widget, or you can Save and Notify Users by email of the announcement. The email will be sent 10 minutes after you have clicked Save, and the Announcement will still show on the wall and widget.
With the Quick Links widget, you can give quick access to other important sites, web applications, and files. Use it to provide links to things like online timesheets, project management systems, external benefit systems, and organizational resource drives or intranets.
The Resources widget allows you to have up to 5 documents (max of 10MB per file) that users can easily download from the sidebar. This is a convenient way to make your most popular documents accessible to users at any time. Some ideas of what you might want to include are your company logo, letterhead, employee manual, or time off request sheet.
These can be any file type, and you simply upload the files you want to be displayed in the widget from your computer while in the account tab.

Embed a Survey: You can use the Custom HTML widget for short surveys or a suggestion box. For large surveys, we recommend using Custom Text with a link to the survey to ensure a better user experience.
